EHEIM pHcontrol+e – the smart controller for monitoring and adjusting the aquarium pH

With the pHcontrol+e from EHEIM, you can easily monitor and optimize the pH of your aquarium using a smartphone, tablet, PC/MAC. This is done through a WiFi connection and your web browser. A pH probe measures the current pH value of the water, and the pHcontrol+e automatically ensures the necessary CO2 supply. It does this by controlling the solenoid valve integrated into the CO2 system. If necessary, it adds CO2 until the desired pH value is reached.

To make it work, you need to connect your CO2 system, meaning one CO2 bottle per pressure reducer and a solenoid valve (see EHEIM CO2-Sets), and a CO2 diffuser. The pHcontrol+e has a day/night control and can be linked to the EHEIM LEDcontrol+e light control. (see EHEIM Digital Family).

In addition to light, nitrogen, phosphate, trace elements, etc., the plants in your aquarium primarily need CO2, an essential nutrient. The more they grow, the more oxygen they release, which fish need to breathe. Thus, by adding CO2, the EHEIM pHcontrol+e indirectly provides oxygen and an optimal pH for your fish. This typically ranges between pH 6 and pH 8; the neutral indicative value is pH 7.

Attention!
The basis for measuring and stabilizing pH is the carbonate hardness (KH) of the water. That's why the EHEIM pHcontrol+e (in smart mode) first asks for the carbonate hardness (KH) value. KH, CO2, and pH mutually influence each other.
