Vietnamese sucker fish, ideal for fast-flowing aquariums

The Sewellia lineolata, also known as the striped sucker loach, is a bottom-dwelling fish native to the fast-flowing rivers of Vietnam. It is appreciated for its ability to cling to rocks and its unique appearance.

Behaviour & maintenance

A peaceful, territorial species, best kept in groups of 3 to 5 individuals. Sewellia lineolata requires an aquarium of at least 200 litres with a strong current and well-oxygenated water. Use an efficient external filter and flat rocks to help it settle.

Diet

Omnivorous with a tendency to eat algae: it feeds onalgae, blanched vegetables, plant granules and live or frozen prey (artemia, mud worms).
