Planting and care
- Rinse the nutrient capsule, then split the cup into small clumps.
- Planted: space 2-3 cm between clumps to encourage density.
- Floating: let it drift on the surface to create a protective canopy.
- Regular pruning: pinch off the ends to increase density; replant cuttings = multiplication.
- Light liquid fertilisers are useful in poor water conditions;CO2 is not essential.
Compatibility and uses
- Community tanks & viviparous rearing tanks (guppies, endlers, etc.).
- Dwarf shrimps: biofilm support & resting areas.
- Start-up phase: helps stabilise by absorbing nitrates & free nutrients.
AquaBota advice
- Avoid over-stirring if used floating to preserve calm zones for fry.
- If the water is very poor, add a weekly dose ofcomplete fertiliser (N-P-K + micros).
- In the event of an invasion, prune short and remove the excess to keep light on the lower plants.
