Planting and care

  1. Rinse the nutrient capsule, then split the cup into small clumps.
  2. Planted: space 2-3 cm between clumps to encourage density.
  3. Floating: let it drift on the surface to create a protective canopy.
  4. Regular pruning: pinch off the ends to increase density; replant cuttings = multiplication.
  5. Light liquid fertilisers are useful in poor water conditions;CO2 is not essential.

Compatibility and uses

  • Community tanks & viviparous rearing tanks (guppies, endlers, etc.).
  • Dwarf shrimps: biofilm support & resting areas.
  • Start-up phase: helps stabilise by absorbing nitrates & free nutrients.

AquaBota advice

  • Avoid over-stirring if used floating to preserve calm zones for fry.
  • If the water is very poor, add a weekly dose ofcomplete fertiliser (N-P-K + micros).
  • In the event of an invasion, prune short and remove the excess to keep light on the lower plants.
