Tanganyika shellfish - a territorial and fascinating species
Lamprologus ocelatus "Gold" is a Lake Tanganyika cichlid with a unique behaviour. It lives and breeds in shells, which it fiercely defends. Its beautiful golden colouring and curious behaviour make it a much-loved fish among discerning aquarists.
Territorial and lively. It occupies a shell which it actively protects. A 60-100 L tank with a sandy substrate, several shells per fish and a few rocks to demarcate territories is required.
