Cichlasoma Hybrid Geel Parrot 6-7cm

The Yellow Parrot is an ornamental hybrid cichlid, offered in our freshwater range. It is suitable for well-equipped aquariums with plenty of space.

Behavior & care

As a territorial and sometimes aggressive cichlid, the Yellow Parrot is generally peaceful with tankmates of similar size and robustness. It appreciates a stable, well-filtered and well-oxygenated aquarium with many hiding places (rocks, wood, visual barriers). Provide a volume of at least 200 l for a pair or small group. Use starter bacteria and regularly check your water values with water tests.

Feeding

As an omnivore, the Yellow Parrot readily accepts flakes, pellets and frozen foods. Vary the diet (plant and animal matter) with our suitable foods to prevent obesity and support growth, coloration and vitality. In planted tanks, you can supplement when needed with aquarium fertilizers.

• Ideal temperature: 24 – 28 °C
• pH: 6.5 – 7.5
• GH: 5 – 15 °dGH
• KH: 3 – 10 °KH
• Conductivity: 150 – 500 µS

Before adding the fish, treat the water with a water conditioner. Powerful filtration (appropriate filters) and regular maintenance (maintenance equipment) are essential to keep the water clean and stable.

Décor & environment

Use a suitable aquarium substrate and create hiding spots with rocks and driftwood. Robust natural plants can be used, but avoid very delicate species. Ensure good lighting with our aquarium lighting and complete the layout with decorations to structure the territory.

• Order cut-off: every Monday at 10:00.
• France: shipments on Monday or Tuesday, depending on the delivery département, for delivery between Tuesday and Thursday.
• Belgium & Luxembourg: shipments on Monday and Tuesday for delivery between Tuesday and Wednesday.
