Caridina Japonica 3–3.5 cm (Caridina japonica) is featured in our freshwater section. It is suitable for well-equipped aquariums.

Behaviour and care

A calm, gregarious species originating from Central America / captive-bred, it thrives in a stable, well-filtered and well-oxygenated aquarium. Provide a volume of at least 80 L (group). Use starter bacteria and regularly check your parameters with water tests.

Feeding

As an omnivore, this species accepts flakes, granules and natural foods. Vary the diet with our specially formulated foods to support colouration and vitality. In densely planted tanks, consider using aquarium fertilisers.

• pH: 6.8 – 7.8
• GH: 6 – 12 °dGH
• KH: 3 – 8 °KH
• Conductivity: 150 – 400 µS

Before introduction, treat the water with a suitable water conditioner. Efficient filtration (suitable filters) and regular maintenance (maintenance equipment) ensure a healthy environment.

Décor and environment

Favour an aquarium substrate and natural plants. Optimise lighting with our aquarium lighting and complete the layout with suitable decorations.
