Ornamental invertebrate - peaceful, useful and easy to maintain
The Caridina is a freshwater invertebrate appreciated for its role as a cleaner (algae, biofilm, micro-debris) and its compatibility with most calm tanks.
Behaviour and maintenance
Peaceful and discreet. Provide hiding places and well-oxygenated water. Avoid predatory cohabitants (large cichlids, tetraodons, aggressive crayfish).
Food
Algae, biofilm, detritus. If necessary, supplement with vegetable pellets and blanched vegetables. A mineral/calcium supplement helps the shell.

- GH: 6 - 18 °dGH
- KH: 3 - 12 °KH
- Nitrite/Ammonia: 0 (very sensitive)
Avoid copper medicines. A conditioner neutralises chlorine/chloramines.

Surfaces to graze (windows, rocks, roots). Hardy plants are spared (does not consume healthy plants).
