Trichogaster chuna "Gold", commonly known as the gold honey gourami, is a small tropical freshwater fish from Asia. Its warm golden colour and gentle temperament make it a perfect choice for planted community tanks and well-maintained nano aquariums.

Behavior & care

A calm, shy species that thrives in peaceful setups without aggressive or very boisterous fish. Males may defend a small territory during breeding, but are generally non-aggressive.

• Recommended volume: min. 40 L for a pair, larger for a small group.
• Gentle filtration, very little current.
• Floating plants and shaded areas are highly recommended.

Feeding

Omnivore with a carnivorous tendency:

• Fine flakes and micro-pellets for small tropical fish.
• Live or frozen foods such as Artemia, daphnia and bloodworms.
• Plant-based additions (spirulina, green foods) for a balanced diet.
