Poecilia reticulatus Endler is a cross between the classic guppy and the wild Endler(Poecilia wingei). This fish combines the robustness of the guppy with the liveliness of the Endler. Very popular, it adds movement and colour to any community aquarium.

1. Behaviour & maintenance

Lively, peaceful and gregarious. Should be kept in groups with a ratio of around 1 male to 2-3 females. The aquarium should be densely planted, with quiet areas and gentle filtration. This species is particularly recommended for beginners.

5. Reproduction

Viviparous: the female gives birth to 15 to 30 fry after a gestation period of 3 to 4 weeks. The young are independent from birth. Very prolific species, easy reproduction in a community aquarium.

Ideal for peaceful fish: Corydoras, Rasboras, Neocaridina shrimps, small Tetras. Avoid aggressive or fast-moving species such as Tiger Barbet.
