The Dumbo Blue Mosaic Guppy is a selected strain of Poecilia reticulata, characterised by its large ear-shaped pectoral fins ("Dumbo" type) and tail with a blue mosaic pattern. It is an elegant, sociable and easy-to-maintain ornamental fish, ideal for well-planted tropical aquariums.

Behaviour & maintenance

Like all guppies:

• Very sociable and peaceful
• Must be kept with several females to limit stress(ratio 1 ♂ / 2-3 ♀)
• Easy to reproduce: females give birth every 25-30 days

Diet

Omnivorous:

• Flakes or granules for tropical fish
• Supplements: artemia, mud worms, micro worms
• Spirulina, poached vegetables for digestive balance

• Temperature: 22 - 26 °C
• pH: 6.8 - 7.5
• GH: 8 - 20 °dGH
• KH : 4 - 12 °KH
• Conductivity: 250 - 500 µS

Provide a small heater to maintain a stable temperature, and change the water regularly.

Decor & environment

Recommendations :

• Fine sand or neutral substrate
• Floating plants to calm surface movements
• Avoid fish with a tendency to nibble (e.g. bearded bass, live tetras).
