The white female guppy is a variant of Poecilia reticulata selected for its clear coat, ranging from pearly white to translucent cream. It is ideal for breeding, colour selection, or as a peaceful companion in a well-planted community aquarium.

Behaviour & maintenance

Like all guppies :

• Very peaceful and gregarious
• Must be kept in groups with several females to limit harassment by males
• Easy to reproduce: gives birth to live fry approximately every 4 weeks

Feeding

Omnivorous:

• Flakes or micro-granules for tropical fish
• Supplements: artemia, mud worms, daphnia
• Spirulina and poached vegetables for intestinal health

Female guppies are very tolerant and adapt well to slightly hard, alkaline water.

• Dense or floating plants to hide young fish
• No strong currents to avoid tiring the breeding fish.
