Red cap guppy - bright, colourful and easy to breed in pairs.

The Guppy Red Cap Brazil is a breeding variety of Poecilia reticulata, notable for its **bright red head contrasting with a translucent silver body**. This Brazilian strain is prized for its active behaviour, ease of breeding and **wide tolerance in the community aquarium**.

Behaviour & maintenance

This guppy is :

  • Gregarious, peaceful and very active
  • Best kept in small groups, ideally 1 male for 2-3 females
  • Spontaneous breeder: females give birth to live fry
A well-planted tank with hiding places for the fry is recommended.

Feeding

Omnivorous:

  • Flakes and suitable micro-granules
  • Artemia, daphnia, micro worms (live or frozen)
  • Spirulina, poached spinach, vegetables to supplement the diet
A varied diet stimulates colour and reproduction.
