Robust cold-water fish ideal for beginners
The common goldfish(Carassius auratus) is one of the most popular cold-water fish. Easy to keep and very sociable, they are ideal for family aquariums or small outdoor ponds.
These fish are peaceful, gregarious and curious. It likes to live in groups (minimum 2 to 3 individuals) in a spacious aquarium of at least 60 L per fish. Avoid tanks that are too small, or fishballs, which are detrimental to the fish's well-being.

Goldfish are omnivores: they like flakes, pellets and fresh food. We recommend varying its food to maintain bright colours and good digestive health.

Before introduction, treat the water with a suitable water conditioner to remove chlorine and heavy metals.
This fish likes to dig in the ground: choose fine sand and robust aquatic plants such asAnubias orElodea.
Avoid plants that are too fragile and could be uprooted.
