Nocturnal South American catfish, peaceful and discreet

Trachelyopterus fisheri is a small South American catfish that lives close to the bottom and among roots. It is ideal for a calm community aquarium with hiding places and shaded areas.

Behavior & care

A peaceful, nocturnal and rather solitary species. It likes to hide among roots and rocks. Provide a tank of at least 120 L with moderate filtration (external filter) and a fine substrate.

Feeding

Opportunistic carnivore: bloodworms, Artemia, shrimp and sinking pellets. See our range of foods for bottom-dwelling fish.
