Small, peaceful schooling fish with bright green-blue highlights

The Paracheirodon simulans, also known as the green neon or false neon tetra, is a small freshwater fish native to the Amazon basin. It has a brilliant turquoise lateral stripe and gregarious behaviour. Perfect for small planted aquariums.

1. Behaviour & maintenance

A peaceful, gregarious fish that should be kept in schools of at least 10 individuals. It feels safe in a densely planted setting with subdued light and a dark floor. Avoid overly lively or aggressive fish.
